Now how did this Op-Ed, “The single-mom catastrophe” by Kay S. Hymowitz make it into the LaTimes on June 3, 2012. Ms. Hymowitz cites a study by Robert Lerman of the Urban Institute.

If Louisiana is to, ahem, ‘move forward’, then the States marriage policies that have led to the massive rise in children ‘born-not-of-the-marriage’ need to be rolled back. These policies have impoverished a generation of our children.
